This project involves the extension and the re-modelling of the external area at the Ritz Carlton hotel, Bahrain. The client wanted to increase the capacity of the F&B space outside and to introduce variety of additional leisure activities to enhance the user experience. Salloum and Salloum, responded by strengthening the connectivity between the main hotel and the beach by breaking down the physical obstacles and increasing the site lines from the main hotel through to the new facility and the beach. The refurbishment comprises of two restaurants, an all-day dining restaurant of a capacity of 164 pax and a Thai restaurant and Bar which caters for 67 pax. The new extension houses a breathtaking infinity pool overlooking the beach and sea, a dry fountain, a number of reflective pools, shading devices and a number of green and stone feature walls – delicately planted to enhance the visual excitement and interest. The project lighting is based on LED lighting which considerably reduces the lighting energy demand. The total refurbishment area is 9,000sqm. The finishes have been specifically chosen to enhance the colours of the new landscape yet very subtle and relaxing. Careful consideration and planning was made to ensure all MEP equipment is placed away from guest visibility.
